Malaysia Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian
Government for the purpose of traveling abroad. Malaysia Passport is the
property of The Government of Malaysia and it may be withdrawn at any time
if the Immigration Department is satisfied that the passport is used
contravene against the Passport Act 1966. The holder is fully responsible
for the security of the Passport.
Validity for Malaysia passport is five (5) years or two (2) years from the
date of issued. Biometric passport
cannot be modified due to the 'write once' policy by ICAO. Renewal of
Malaysia passport for the new passport that has a validity of 6 months or
less, the new one will have 5 or 2 years validity plus maximum 6 months
remaining validity in the old passport. Renewal can be done at any of
Immigration Offices or
Malaysian
Representative Offices overseas.

1. What are the forms and
documents required in passport application process?
The form required is Form A - IM.42 - Pin 1/1997 and the documents required
are Identification Card (Original and photocopy), Birth Certificate
(original and photocopy), photocopies must in A4 size paper and two recent
passport sized
(3.5 cm X 5.0 cm) color photographs.

How long does a passport application process?
A: The passport can be issued within 2 hours for passport issuance offices
and 3 working days for recipient office. Some immigration offices can issue
the passport within 1 hour after received the payment. Please refer to
immigration offices in this website for further information. |

I'm planning to submit my passport application, when is the peak period to
avoid?
A: Most of the Immigration Offices are peak on Monday, Friday, Saturday (for
selected branch only), school holidays, eve and the day after public
holiday. |

I'm busy on week day, any immigration office open on weekend?
A: With effective from 3 Jan 2011, the selected immigration offices will
working on Saturday and Sunday from 8.00am to 1.00pm. The services provided
only limited to Malaysia International Passport application and processing

5: I have two (2) children. Can I include
their particulars in my passport?
A: The new Malaysian Passport System does not allow the inclusion of
children's particulars in the parents' passport to be made. They have to
apply themselves. |
